Teacher Induction Scheme and CPD
As a probationer teacher following the Teacher Induction Scheme, you are required to go through a fairly intense period of CPD.
In order to successfully achieve the The Standard for Full Registration you will need to consider specific requirements in the four areas of your CPD programme:
- you are required to dedicate 6.75 hours (0.3 full time equivalent) of your Timetable to CPD Experiences and 15.75 (0.7 full time equivalent) to teaching practice
- Supporter Meetings play a vital role in your initial year, helping you plan your development needs and experiences and discuss progress
- Observed Teaching Sessions will ensure that you receive valuable feedback on your teaching practice and provide an opportunity for evaluation
- CPD Experiences will take place both in and out of school
Recording your evidence
You should maintain a record of your professional development during your probationary period in your CPD portfolio.
