The Council has regard to the public interest in the carrying out of its functions and in the information which it holds. In preparing to meet our obligations under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, including the drawing up of this Scheme, we have been mindful of the values and principles of openness and transparency.
The purpose of the Scheme is to ensure that a significant amount of information is easily and routinely made available. The Scheme provides guidance on what information is available within the Council and how to obtain it. It sets out:
- the classes of information which the Council publishes or intends to publish
- the manner in which information within each class is, or is intended to be, published
- whether the material is, or is intended to be, available free of charge or on payment
